Ms. Clunie was a very personable informed interviewee. She fully explained bicyclists & pedestrians rights and responsibilities.

Her explanation of the importance of the New York Bicycling Coalition as the statewide advocate for better bicycling & pedestrian conditions was clear and concise.

The Coalition appears to be at the forefront of effectively informing our legislators; members of executive departments (Governor's Office; Department of Transportation, Division of Tourism;) independent agencies (Canal Corporation, Bridge Authorities;) private business; & not-for-profit organizations of bicyclists needs.

Ms. Clunie's description of the Coalition's activities advocating for and the need for a safe passing law and better access on public transportation facilities (Amtrak, Greyhound, Trailways, Shortline as well as bike racks on municipal buses) for bicyclists was right on target.

The safe passing law will protect both the motorist & the bicyclists. From Ms. Clunie's description of the New York Bicycling Coalition's "Savvy Cycling" course, all bicyclists should be taking this valuable safety course. The Governor's Traffic Safety Commission should be complimented for funding such a wonderful idea of training bicyclists, especially young adult & adult bicyclists.

If more folks use the roadway for bicycle touring during their vacations, they will need a "public transportation" method to get to their initial start destination. The Coalition seems to be on top of this growing tourism trend to combine public transportation (rather than automobile transportation) with long distance & local bicycling. You see more on a bicycle & usually visit more places within a defined area.
