Michael Vick - PETA

I read that Michael Vick tested positive for marijuana, and that this will probably result in him receiving a harsher prison sentence. Am I the only one who finds this ridiculous? The man was torturing dogs for the amusement of his friends and himself. Isn't that serious enough to stand on its own?dog4.jpg

I am not an animal rights activist. I'm not even a vegetarian, but I found this man's actions despicable. What do you think of having a PETA representative on the show? I've never given PETA any money, and I disagree with a lot of things they do, but I think it could make an interesting show where we try to differentiate animal rights and human rights, and draw the lines.

We had Morris in the studio on Tuesday. He talks about his campaign and prospects in 2008 against Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand. Thanks again Morris. We're looking forward to getting John Wallace from the GOP in October.

2nd try

Ok, Eric. I'm trying this again.

We finished our third episode last night and have established a regular taping schedule. Capital Outsider is starting to run on SACC-TV channel 16 on Sunday nights at 8. It also airs at 10:30 on Saturday night. As we get more shows we'll have a queue ready for individuals throughout the state to sponsor. TV.jpg

We ask that you request a DVD format, as that traditional VHS is burdensome to handle and copy. Many outlets only have a VHS option. We'll do the best that we can to find a solution in that case. We will be taping two shows on the fourth Tuesday of the month and have already filled the spots for October 23rd.

Send an email to us at info (at) capitaloutsider.org. Please be patient as way work out the bugs and get organized. Look for our blog authors to start chiming in during the month of October. The latest show will be 'up' by at least the end of the weekend.

Warren Redlich was our first 'official' guest. Warren talks about his current bid for Guilderland Town Board, his Congressional run in 2006, blogging and of course, Ron Paul.

Thanks again to Warren for helping with that libertarian at the Board of Elections. Warren was removed from the Guilderland ballot recently too, this time it was a Democrat who successfully gave the people less choice on election day.

Here's our first test show. John Mounteer interviews Bill McMillen and Jeff Russell. Jeff is a former US Senate candidate as well as current state chair of the New York Libertarian Party. Bill is a former state chair and US Senate candidate also.

This is the official website and blog for 'Capital Outsider'. A small group from the Capital District Libertarian Party have committed to producing a show in the Capital Region dedicated to views and experiences not in the mainstream or 'outside' the regular channels. We hope to have guests from all walks of life and political beliefs who fit this bill.capout5a.jpg We will post the most current versions of the show and develop the site as we go. Please let us know what you think via the comments section in any given post. I'm posting the graphic that I created and liked the best, we'll probably never use it, so I will now.

Sincerely,

Eric Sundwall
